The management committee are currently working on achieving the best advice to give to members in respect of club business during these unprecedented times. We would like to reassure members that the safety and health of our staff, members and visitors is paramount, and that we are committed to supporting our community through this crisis. We are also aware that many of our members live outside our community and may be considering travelling to the village in the near future and are looking for information that will assist them in making the best decisions for themselves.

Initially, we are remaining open as usual, in great part due to our staff who have all agreed that they are happy to continue working. We have also yet to receive any formal guidelines from the local authority and we are currently striving to seek their advice. Our initial response will be as follows:

  • Staff will serve each new drink order in a fresh glass, and glasses will be washed frequently.
  • Whilst staff are willing to complete their shifts, if the premises are either empty or sparsely attended, staff have the authorisation from the committee to close and go home. It may therefore be advisable to call the club before venturing out.
  • In accordance with National advice, we would ask members who may have underlying medical conditions to consider the necessity of their visit, particularly if they are travelling in from external communities.
  • If you are paying for products by card, you will be asked to put your own card into the reader and take it out again or use it to ‘tap’ a contactless transaction.

We will issue further guidance both on our website and via the Buggler when we are able to, and there will be general advisory notices displayed in the club.

Needless to say, we wish all of our members the very best at this increasingly difficult time.
